A casting can look acceptable and still create installation trouble if flange flatness, threads, or sealing faces are not controlled.
What We Reviewed Before Quotation
- The actual environment: salt water, offshore exposure, fluid type, temperature, and corrosion expectation.
- Whether stainless steel, aluminum bronze, ductile iron, cast steel, or aluminum is the practical material direction.
- Which sealing, flange, thread, and fluid-contact surfaces need machining and inspection.
- Whether finishing and packing will protect machined or coated surfaces before installation.
What to Send for a Similar RFQ
- 2D drawing and 3D model if available, including tolerances for machined areas.
- Material grade, working condition, expected quantity, and whether samples are required first.
- Machining notes for holes, threads, bearing seats, sealing faces, datums, or visible surfaces.
- Inspection documents required by the buyer, such as material report, CMM report, pressure/leakage test, or surface finish notes.
