CNC Machining for Cast Parts

Many cast parts are not ready to use after casting. Holes, threads, bearing seats, sealing faces, flat mounting areas, datum surfaces, and key assembly dimensions often need CNC machining before the part can fit the final product.

The main risk is planning machining too late. If allowance, datum selection, clamping areas, and deformation risk are not reviewed before casting, the finished part may become difficult to machine or unstable in assembly.

Mounting faces, flat faces, and fitting surfaces usually need machining so the cast part can locate properly in the final assembly.
