Industrial machinery buyers usually want fewer surprises. A casting can be hidden inside a machine, but if the bearing seat, mounting face, hole position, or flatness is wrong, the assembly still stops.

Customer names, drawings, and commercial details are not shown. The case format below is written to show the engineering review points a buyer can compare with their own drawing.

Machining should not be treated as an afterthought

The casting route and CNC sequence need to be discussed together, especially on housings and brackets.

What We Reviewed Before Quotation

  • Which surfaces should be used as machining datums and which surfaces are only raw casting areas.
  • Whether the housing or bracket has uneven wall thickness that may move during machining.
  • How bearing seats, bolt holes, slots, and threaded holes should be inspected.
  • Whether the buyer needs raw castings, machined castings, or assembly-ready finished parts.

What to Send for a Similar RFQ

  • 2D drawing and 3D model if available, including tolerances for machined areas.
  • Material grade, working condition, expected quantity, and whether samples are required first.
  • Machining notes for holes, threads, bearing seats, sealing faces, datums, or visible surfaces.
  • Inspection documents required by the buyer, such as material report, CMM report, pressure/leakage test, or surface finish notes.
