The drawing should show the bearing seats, sealing faces, mounting faces, threaded holes, wall thickness, and any surfaces that need CNC machining. These details decide the casting route, tooling risk, machining allowance, and inspection method.
Can a housing be supplied as a finished machined part?
Yes. A housing can be quoted as raw casting only, or as casting plus CNC machining, finishing, inspection, and export packing. Buyers should mark the functional faces and inspection requirements before quotation.
Which casting process is normally used for housings?
It depends on material, size, quantity, wall thickness, surface requirement, and tooling budget. Sand casting is often used for larger or lower-volume housings, while die casting or gravity casting may fit aluminum housings with repeat demand.
