What We Reviewed Before Quotation
- Which areas are fluid-contact or pressure-related and cannot be treated as cosmetic surfaces.
- Whether material documents, pressure tests, or third-party inspection should be included before quotation.
- How much machining allowance is needed on sealing faces, flanges, bores, and threaded ports.
- Whether the chosen casting process can control wall thickness and internal cavity risk.
What to Send for a Similar RFQ
- 2D drawing and 3D model if available, including tolerances for machined areas.
- Material grade, working condition, expected quantity, and whether samples are required first.
- Machining notes for holes, threads, bearing seats, sealing faces, datums, or visible surfaces.
- Inspection documents required by the buyer, such as material report, CMM report, pressure/leakage test, or surface finish notes.
