Key Manufacturing Challenges

Internal cavity control

Valve bodies can hide risk inside the cavity. Wall thickness, feeding, cleaning, and inspection access need to be discussed early.

Sealing and threaded areas

A small issue on a sealing face or threaded port can make the part unusable even if the outside casting looks fine.

Document requirements

Material reports, dimensional reports, and pressure test needs affect lead time and cost, so they should not be added at shipment.

Manufacturing Review Route

  • Check the valve body drawing for fluid path, wall thickness, ports, sealing faces, and machining notes.
  • Review stainless steel, cast steel, ductile iron, or bronze options according to application.
  • Plan CNC machining datums for sealing areas, flanges, threads, and mounting faces.
  • Confirm inspection scope such as material report, dimensional report, pressure/leakage test, or third-party inspection.
