Sand Cast Pump Housing with Sealing Face and Port Inspection
For pump housings, the casting route is only one part of the project. The buyer also needs to know how the sealing face, ports, threaded holes, and internal areas will be reviewed before machining and inspection.
Project Review Notes
Drawing Evaluation
The drawing review started with sealing areas, port layout, wall thickness, and whether internal passages or cores would affect the casting route. We also checked which dimensions needed to be controlled after machining.
Process Selection
Sand casting was reviewed because pump housings often have thicker sections, fluid passages, and lower or medium quantities. The process discussion included material, core areas, machining allowance, and sample approval needs.
Machining and Inspection
The machining plan focused on the sealing face, ports, threads, and flange areas. Inspection requirements were discussed around flatness, thread gauges, surface defects near sealing areas, and pressure-related checks when required by the buyer.
